Was it something I said ...

Or didn't say?

Clearly my Everyday in May has already bored my readers to where they can't even comment :). Well, sadly I don't have any pictures to entertain you today as I have yet to reload Photoshop. Maybe tomorrow?

In the meantime, let's talk about something dirty ... oh, did that peak your interest? I've got your attention now, don't I. Well I don't know if you'd call it dirty, maybe more like potty talk? Alright, lets just get right down to it ... I want to talk about your toilets, okay?

As I'm cleaning today, which hallelujah felt SO great to finally get done, and I get to the toilets it made me start thinking about how other people clean their toilets (or maybe don't). I'll tell you how I do it, which of course I think is the best way (but I'm kind of like that and you can just ignore whatever I tell you :). First of all I hand wash the toilet, gross, right? Well when you consider your toilet is cleaner than your kitchen sink, I say it's not that big of a deal. I usually wear gloves, if that helps make it any less gross. I spray the whole thing, including, and this is very important, the entire base of the toilet. I clean from the tank all the way down to the sides of the toilet. You know, the part where the bolts are that hold the toilet to the floor ... you do know what I'm talking about right? Because this is when I started thinking about the whole toilet cleaning topic and that I think there are a lot of people out there that don't clean this area. I've seen it with my own two eyes at many a places and while I'm not entirely sure why it gets skipped over I think part of it is because it's kind of a pain and out of reach ... but seriously, it is so gross. Especially if you have any male living in your house. The base of the toilet is almost more important than the rest of the toilet. So there you have it ... a totally random thought of mine about nothing, really :). But I do hope that if you're reading this and haven't cleaned that area of your lu in awhile ... that you'll go take a peek and see exactly what you've been missing.

Don't you wish I had just given you a list and a picture? Maybe tomorrow!

Everyday in May~
5-6-08
  1. My morning "wog" (half walk/half jog) in complete silence (my iPod was dead) and really liking it.
  2. Finishing three apron orders.
  3. Matt installed the new hard drive and spent many hours doing so, so that I could use the computer today.
  4. A nice chat with a friend ... thinking we should do it more often as we both had much more to say!
  5. Matt getting up with Ethan at 2AM even though he'd barely come to bed and was up at 6:30AM!
5-7-08
  1. Cleaning the house - which I really enjoy.
  2. Lunch and chatting with Julie, also very nice to catch up with.
  3. Letting Ethan skip his nap so he could hang out with "Aunt Jewie"
  4. Another day blessed with Ethan's positive attitude, even without a nap he stayed in a happy mood all day.
  5. Walking with my neighbor ... lots of good girl chatting today :).

Happy Wednesday ... I hope I didn't bore you or scare you out of coming back tomorrow!!

Bleh! Why would you put your hand IN the toilet?! You know I hate that. :) I do clean the base - but not everytime...maybe I should start. I will draw the line however @ putting my hand IN. No thank you. :)

I clean the base...pretty much dry heaving the whole time though :p

You're one of those rare people that I can't stand that enjoys exercise and cleaning. ;) I'm lazy and both require too much effort :p

I have an good excuse for not commenting on the last post. Sorry.
With 3 boys, soon to be 4, using our toilets, you better believe I clean the whole thing. And the floor around the toilet. Yuck.

i seriously think its the way we were raised i never thought anything of the way we clean toilets until i was cleaning them at work and jen was appalled that my hand (in a glove-too many boys at work) was in the toilet, and that i cleaned every part of it. it is kind of refreshing though to know i have the cleanest toilet around right? maybe that's why i was sunday cleaner for months on end. love you :)

I definately clean the entire toilet, base and all, each week. However, I have to agree with Jessie, I draw the line at sticking my hand in. I'll let the toilet brush do that for me :)

Hey you - I LOVE the everyday in May! In fact, I'm playing along with you by trying to take a picture each day so I can make a little mini-book at the end of the month. Since I am blogless I might just have to email you some pics when it's all done. But don't quit on me cause I think it's fun! Have a great day!

Okay, just realized as I'm now proof reading my comment that I spelled toilet wrong, twice. :P

Wow - way to pull in the comments! Maybe sometimes we are just at a loss for words... :) Glad your toilets are clean - better not come and look to close at mine right now!

Maybe my house is where you noticed the bottom of the toilet? I hate cleaning the bottom because it puts my face too close to the bowl. I should do better...
