Celebration ...

... in review.

First, it's good to be 31. Really, the last 6 days have been great, so I'm trusting this will be another great year.

I had a wonderful birthday day made perfect by Matt, Ethan and my parents.

The day started with Ethan singing me "Happy Birthday" and running to retrieve the card he got for me. Seriously, his little voice singing to me was present enough. :)

We had a "normal" breakfast, LOL, and headed to Farmer's Market downtown. I love going to the market ... we never stay more than an hour or so, but it's a nice little walk together and time spent enjoying some great sights, sounds and our favorite part, tastes! I enjoyed a almond twist from the Parisian bakery and grabbed a mini walnut-pecan pie for later.

After the market we headed to meet up with my parents for an early lunch at Olive Garden. We arrived a bit early so I did a little shopping at Old Navy and Matt did a little at Best Buy. He got the better deal, scoring this radio for our bedroom for only $39.99! Lunch was my favorite: soup, salad and bread sticks with several cokes (it's the little things). Then Ethan headed home with Grandma and Papa for an overnighter and Matt and I headed to a great little fabric/yarn shop for some serious birthday fun. The shop was having 40% off ALL their fabric and Matt was so sweet to follow me around, hold fabric and patiently wait as I "figured things out in my head." I think we were there about an hour and I managed to pick up 13 yards of fabric. It was so nice to not have a schedule to keep and just do what we wanted.

We decided to head home for awhile before dinner. I worked on finishing my new tote and Matt worked on finishing his shaker wall clock he's been building.

I thought a picnic dinner would be fun, so we grabbed sandwiches from a new deli and headed to the train depot to eat and talk and then take some silly pictures. We finished off our dinner with some chocolate mousse from a little cafe downtown. It was such a lovely evening!

I also wanted to go to a movie, but there wasn't anything in the theaters I was dying to see, so we came home and watched my latest Netflix, No Reservations. I thought it was a comedy so I was a little thrown when I was crying 30 minutes into it! A good movie though and Matt again sweetly sat through it even though it wasn't really his cup of tea.

As I climbed into bed, I went to turn the monitor on and realized I didn't have to worry about a little one that night. I smiled again having a thankful heart for such a wonderful day given to me by those that are dearest to me.

Thank you to everyone who made my day special, you are all a treasure to me!

Sounds like a very happy birthday was had! I have visited the TD twice this week for photo shoots, I love this time of year up there. I would love to go back, just Jeff and I (no camera :) ) for a picnic lunch. That's a great idea.

Oh and a complete side note, your hair looks really cute in those pictures :)

Glad you had a good birthday, and hope Ethan will want to come back to spend the night soon! I wondered why I hadn't seen any new posts - then got caught up with other things and didn't check until tonight. Glad you are feeling better - or at least not o.d.ing on allergy meds!
