Breakfast with Santa ...

... or if you have my child, breakfast in the school gym and a drive by wave at Santa.

A few days prior, our conversation went something like this,
Me - "Ethan, there is a special thing happening at school on Saturday morning called "Breakfast with Santa."
E - "Ohh, that sounds fun."
Me - "I bet it is. You get to have breakfast and then sit with Santa, tell him what you'd like for Christmas and get your picture taken."
E - "Remember I just like to wave at him like this (demonstrates waving in case I have forgotten what that means)."
Me - "Well I know you did that last year, but maybe this year you would want to talk to him."
E - "No, he's not the real Santa anyway."
Me - "Well you're right about that, but it might be one of his helpers."
E - "No, his helpers are elves and they don't like to be seen."

I should have taken him at his word because sure enough, he had NO interest in seeing Santa. This is the best shot I could get, 'proving' we did more than eat a meager breakfast in the school gym this morning.

The snow was beautiful today ... perfect for being inside, watching a movie (Home Alone, again :D) and napping!

December 11th -
Matt got home early today so we surprised E by having both of us pick him up from school. We then took him to run a few errands and then out to dinner for his excellent report card. We're both proud of his 'grades' and the teacher's comments.

I don't know that we did anything particularly "Christmas-y" today. Matt & E had some daddy-son time and I finished up the last of my custom orders.

Happy Weekend!

E cracks me up. I can see & hear the whole conversation - love it! Where did you take him to dinner? Hope to talk with you tomorrow! xoxo

I recall you not being so fond of Santa in your youth! Ethan is a funny boy - but as you said you should take him at his word! You will have to fill me in on his report-card. Hope you all had a lovely week-end. See you Thursday!

I have always known Ethan wouldn't be easily fooled by all the fake santa's running around. Santa is waaay to busy to actually show up all around the country. I am secretly hoping that Santa shows up at the apartment and drops off some goodies for me. I need some new legos so ethan and I can play some more next time we hang out.

Best wishes from MN
