Do you bookmark?

{Image Credit: mmmcrafts blog, one of my favorites. We made these 'old fashioned' bookmarks for Mother's Day.}

Rewind to several years ago when our 'old' system crashed. Matt was able to get it running again just enough to add some memory so it could keep on trucking. Well when I was checking, double checking and triple checking I had everything backed up and saved ... I forgot about my beloved bookmarks.

You know ... your "Favorites" ... "Bookmark This" ...

Well unlike most of you (or this is what I'm assuming) I had hundreds of bookmarks. From recipes to sewing projects, house ideas to preschool lessons ... hundreds!!

I was very, very, very sad.

Then I found 'Xmarks' and all has been right in my bookmarking world. It's an online storage/tracking of all my bookmarks. Something I can access from any computer AND something that is backed up every time I exit my browser. Hurray!!

So, here is my friendly advice ... if you like your bookmarks, if you refer back to them often (or hope to ... as is the case with my 1.6 million sewing bookmarks) ... back them up!! Plus this way when you're on vacation and you remember something you want to share with your best friend, you can just log in and wah-lah ... you're sharing a bookmark. And that my friend is a pretty special thing to share :D.

And just for your amusement, here are five of my recent bookmarks ...

And there you have it ... a random post about bookmarking. Hope you learned something new ... even if it was just a new recipe to try ;).

Happy Tuesday!

Thanks for the links. Since I started a tumblr, my bookmark folder is much smaller. I put all my crafty inspiration there.

I know you've told me about this several times but I still haven't done it! :)
I'm going to check out that granola bar bookmark of yours though. I started last week on the quest of perfecting my granola bar recipe. That was the processed food we got rid of for good last week so I need a great recipe.
