I say mothers deserve a whole weekend, yes? ;)
Today my sister and I celebrated our Mom.
We started our day off early with the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, 5K walk/run. After the walk (which felt down right leisurely after yesterday's 5.5mil run) we made our second stop at Starbucks for some water and a little sustenance to see us through shopping.
A little shopping at Kohl's (hello new shoes for this mama) & Shoe Carnival before heading to lunch at Johnny Carinos. Yum!
We finished off our time together with a trip to Old Navy ... and remembered to take a picture. Yes, nice photo op ... Old Navy's parking lot in front of the trunk :). But you know what? I love this photo. It's been too long since we had one of the three of us ... and even though I look very exhausted (the picture doesn't lie), I also look very happy (again, the picture doesn't lie).
Mom, thanks for giving me life ... you've been pretty much wonderful to me ever since!
And as if that wasn't enough happy for one day ...
Matt took me to Starbucks on the way home (visit #3), encouraged me to take a nap, made deep dish pizza & salad for dinner while I sewed a skirt AND made me homemade carrot cake. Ssssswwweeeeetttt!
And it's not even officially Mother's day ...
