Where to begin?

Alright, too much to blog about ... not sure where to start ... so I'm going with the easiest option, the "new" sewing room.

Starting with this for two reasons: one, there seems to be a lot of you interested in this not so glamorous space :) and two, I have uploaded the pictures, unlike those from my weekend trip and the dentist :).

The desk ... which I LOVE. It fits perfect, is very sturdy (as in it can hold up to 400lbs on the desktop?!?! I suppose that means Matt and I can stand on it at the same time should we ever be inclined to), it's very functional (I've already cut and sewn a tote on it) and it's cute! :)

And a better look of the whole room ...

Now to describe ...
To the right and left of the desk are lovely, very hip, very chic rubbermaid bins primarily filled with all of our books (patiently waiting to one day reside on a bookcase). I've dressed up the one on the right by adding my basket of "in progress" orders to the top. The other one has my large cutter on top. On the left hand side of the room is a set of forest green (again, so hip, so chic and totally not so 10 years ago when they were painted) modular cubes. These hold most of my everyday scrapbooking supplies ... because I do hope to scrapbook again one day and the new desk will be good for that too! And on the right is my ironing board and iron. Do you know that an iron is almost as important to sewing as the actual machine is?

So in the "big picture inside Andrea's head, where time and money are of little consideration" I plan to add this bookcase on one of our trips to Salem in the coming months. That will replace the green cubes. I'd also love a fun chair like this, but not sure the practicality, necessity, cost or space will allow for it.

Now that you endured those not so great pictures and long explanation ... how about a discount tote? Yep, I have one, a custom order that didn't turn out quite right. It's *almost* perfect if you can overlook that the magnetic closure is not perfectly centered. Gggrrrr, somehow my measurements shifted as I sewed the interior and exterior together. Anywho, here is a peek ... I'm not going to offer it up quite yet, but will tell you that it will only be $18. And this really is a great deal since that only pays for the materials, my time is being given to you for free :). This tote is also 2 inches taller than my standard "Everyday Hobo Tote." Stay tuned for the chance to purchase ...

Happy Wednesday!!

That desk is lovely! How nice to have all that space to craft and just leave out if need be. And the tote, as adorable as ever!

I love that desk. Should we ever move (which I know we will in God's time thankyouverymuch!) I'm going to have to make sure to take a trip to Portlnd & visit Ikea. Maybe you, me & Graham should take a pickup and go load it up with fun stuff! :)
Okay & seriously quit with the cute bags. I feel like I need to have this one too...
