Thank you Lord for laundry ...

Thank you Lord
for all the clothes that fill these baskets
for they represent
all the love that fills my life.

Those are my words of wisdom on what some of you may feel like is the never ending mundane task called laundry. Who knew it could make me so happy, fill my heart and lift my spirits when I walk into a laundry room filled with clothes. Yes, I have loved to do laundry ever since I heard someone say (someone who had lost their loved ones) how they wished they had loads and loads of laundry to do as it meant that they had loved ones to care for. I'm also quite thankful for the hardworking washer/dryer that I have (even if they are 10 years old) and the blessing of warm water and soap, heck I'm happy I have a separate room in the house dedicated to this task. Plus I rather enjoy the hum of the washer and dryer and the smell of fresh clean clothes ... so all in all, laundry days (Sunday and Monday) are great days for me :).

Now I had wanted to turn my little "poem" into a cute graphic and show you had to quickly embellish it and then frame it so it could live in your laundry room as a sweet little reminder. But this weekend, while wonderful, was filled more with sewing orders than with other creative endeavors. So hopefully this little creative freebie will happen this week :).

In the meantime, here's a look into my sewing room with the new bookcase up. Much organizing and re-arranging and purging needs to be done. Maybe later this week and then I'll give you the "after" photo. But really I love them already.

And here is what I got done ... 3 of these 5 bags (the three on the right). Two more to go before Tuesday :).

Happy Sunday!

how happy is that little photo of cute bags all lined up?
I'm not a huge fan of laundry, but the fact that my laundry shares space with my craft room does make it a lot better....all be it distracting at times...

I appreciate your laundry reminder. I too enjoy the hum & smells of fresh laundry - I don't however love folding it. I shall recite your poem next time I do (which reminds me I have my last load in the dryer waiting for me)...

Cute, cute room!! Can't wait to see the finished product. Are you going to allow me to stay again? It might mess up your sewing room...

I love your little poem! I'm listening to the dryer turning right now since Sunday & Monday are usually laundry days around here too.
I love that bookshelf. Is it from Ikea or Matt?

LOVE that poem and you outlook on laundry. Laundry is my least favorite chore. I need that poem up in my laundry room as a reminder of why all those clothes are there to wash.

Those bags are lookin' mighty cute! It is so hard for me not to order another one from you.

Just remembered I was going to ask what contest you won on the Making Memories blog. Saw your name but didn't know there was even a contest going! You'll have to show your winnings when they come. Congrats!!

I teared up just reading your poem. I have a hard time thinking of life w/o one of my crazy, loud, messy, tough boys!
We went to the cemetary this weekend w/our landlords to visit their son's grave. He died maybe five years ago at age 20, fighting fires. My heart aches for them and I am reminding how blessed I am to have my boys and clean up after them and especially to stay home with them.
Thanks for the reminder. I have a great poem too from my MinL that hangs on my fridge I'll have to post it.
anyway, nice bags I see two that catch my eye. are they intended for certain people already??

Yes, cute bags. Mine is screaming my name...can't wait to tote it around!

You're right these things we do are great reminders of all we have. I better go fold some laundry!

I love to do laundry, I don't even mind the folding... I really don't like to put it away (probably because that's the part that takes the most effort). Thanks for the reminder to be thankful :)

So maybe I don't love laundry as much as you do ~ but will think of it differently now. I am kind of that way about snoring - it doesn't bother me at all when your Dad snores because I know he is breathing, and sleeping soundly! Which doesn't come as easy as it did when we were younger.
