A Portland re-cap ...

A "Girls Weekend" to celebrate my sister's recent 21st birthday and her engagement ... or what I say was two convenient "excuses" to get away together :). No matter the reason, we had a wonderful time ... and sadly, this is the only picture I have to show for it due to technical issues between me, Picassa and the digital camera :(. So sad ... moving on ...

Here's a quick run down of all the shopping and eating we packed in to less than 48 hours ...

Friday night, after a delayed flight and a so-so dinner in the Boise airport, we checked into our hotel, the Portland Marriott Downtown ... however my mom was quite sure Tim & Jessie had left us at the wrong hotel. We had to all but pull her out of the street and into the lobby, all the while she is looking quite bewildered. After pushing her to the front desk, which she doesn't even believe IS the front desk, she checks us in ... yes, they had her down for two nights in a double bed room. Perfect, right? No ... as we continue up to the room, she is still adamant that this is not the right hotel. You see, she was wanting us to stay in the hotel her and my dad stayed in a few years ago ... and as she described it, I knew exactly which one she was referring to ... only we weren't at it ... and it wasn't a Marriott. After I finally found the name of the "other" hotel, she conceded that I was in fact right :). My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed teasing her relentlessly about this all weekend and I'm sure it will continue to bring us many laughs ...

To try to end the delayed and discombobulated evening on a good note, we headed across the street for drinks and dessert at Pazzo. Oh my! Heavenly ... all of it. A good note to end the night on!

Saturday:
Breakfast at Summer's (and mine too) favorite bakery, Saint Honore. I had not just one croissant, but two ... an almond and a chocolate.
Shopping on 23rd street - Sushi PJ's for my mom; a flowly blouse for me and a skirt and shoes for my sister.
Lunch at Papa Haydn's. Sadly I knew of this place because of their desserts and we were to full from lunch to enjoy one. This will be remedied soon ;).
Shopping downtown (Jessie joined up with us) - Nordstrom Rack, Pioneer Place Mall, Knit/Purl & Josephine's Dry Goods.
Dinner with Tim & Jessie at Marcos Cafe. We all indulged in fabulous dessert too!

Sunday:
We enjoyed the most fabulous breakfast at Mother's Bistro. So fun and SO good!
Then off to the IKEA marketplace, where we made a stop at DSW first (yea, new shoes for all of us!) and then Starbucks for some bodily fuel before we hit IKEA for almost 3 hours! Then next door to the airport.

Thanks mom for the wonderful trip, I loved all of it, especially our evenings in the hotel, the three of us laughing and catching up!

Check in tomorrow LATE or Saturday for the black & white tote special!

Happy Thursday!!

It sounds like a wonderful good time! You guys got a lot into those 48 hours.
I'm impressed with your use of discombobulated. :)

I enjoyed every minute of it - although the weather could have been nicer. And next time it will be at Embassy Suites! Although if we stayed there we wouldn't have had Pazzo, and probably wouldn't have gone to Mother's for breakfast. So maybe it wasn't really a mistake...:)
