Talk about instant gratification. Okay, well not so instant, but a weekend of work to go from all dirt, to grass and plants is pretty instant. Matt has spent several weeks prepping, so I'm sure he wouldn't consider it instant, with the sprinklers, fine-grading, rock moving, edging, etc. Matt had Friday off and Julie was kind enough to take Ethan off our hands for the afternoon, so we went and picked and purchased 24 plants and one 10' tree. We were able to get about half of the plants and the tree planted on Friday. Saturday was spent finishing the front flower beds and laying sod ... almost 2500 sq. ft. of it!
(The picture on the left was taken just a few days before we moved in ... and the one on the right was taken last night ... a nice change if I do say so myself!)

This first picture is of the skinny plant bed between our driveway and neighbor's driveway. The other is standing at the end of our driveway, looking back toward our house ... it's kinda hard to tell where our house begins and the one next to us begins ... And did you notice my lush hanging pots? I LOVE them. So big, bright and beautiful ... a Costco steal at like $17 a piece for these monster petunia wave hanging baskets. So, a little more work (drip lines and bark) and we're calling it good for this year. Next year will be tackling the backyard planting (it's just sod right now).Happy Monday!
