Last week was summer camp, Monday - Thursday with a handful of other things thrown in to keep us busy. This week makes last week look like nothing ... this week we're doing vacation bible school (VBS), Monday - Friday from 9am - 11:30am. I'm helping in Ethan's class which is the 4's & 5's. It happens to be the biggest class ... it happens to have almost 45 boys and girls!!!!!
Oh my.
Add to that grocery shopping, house cleaning and baking on Monday to prepare for me hosting Bunko on Tuesday night and today we headed to "our church" (VBS is at our sister church much closer to our home) to clean the nursery and help transition it to it's new "director."
All this equals one tired mama ... without many pictures to share ... but I do have a few good ones from last week and a few Ethan stories to share.

Besides summer camp, the highlight of last week was the arrival of the newest outdoor toy. Our water table is now in it's third summer season and still going strong (best $20 spent) in the entertainment department, but I thought it might need a friend and Ethan has always been attracted to sand boxes. Lucky me ... since I'm *so good* with messy things like sand. So I found this sand table (i.e. not a sand box where there would be sitting in the sand equaling sand in shorts, undies, etc.) and ordered it up. Judging by the fact that Ethan will play out back from 2-3 hours with these two "toys" ... I'd say it was a great investment.
The sandbox lid doubles as a construction site with roads going around the top.Now a few sweet/funny things he's said that I want to remember:
Every Sunday on the way to church we stop at Costco and fill up with gas for the week. As Matt was pumping gas Ethan says, "I don't know what it's like to pump gas." I told him, "when you get bigger you'll be able to pump gas and then you'll know." (all the while shaking my head in amusement at the things he comes up with). So, when Matt gets in the car I was telling him what Ethan said. Ethan stops me mid-way and says, "Dad, what's it like?" in all seriousness as if this was a monumental event in someone's life.
Today as we were making the somewhat long drive to our church, Ethan told me he wanted someone to sit with him in the back seat because he was lonely. I told him it would be nice if he had a brother or a sister to sit back there with him. I expected him to say no or he meant he wanted a friend (as he is usually against the brother/sister idea). Instead, he surprised me and said, "yeah, when are we getting a brother or sister?". So I told him I didn't know that we'd have to wait and see if God gave us one. Then he got quiet and said he was going to "have time with God." A few minutes later he told me that he asked God to give me a baby brother. :).
I'm sure there are plenty more to share, but those are the two that stick out for today. And with that I'm going to call it a night ... but if you aren't sick of me, you can see what I've been sewing up over at the Knitty Bitties blog.
Happy Wednesday!

I'm glad we've been able to see you guys so much this week. :)
Yes, it has been fun seeing you guys so much this week!
Oh just wait until that little brother comes along...toghether they'll have sand everywhere and all over them. Ashlynn and Abigail pour it down their pants and dump it on each others head. At least the sand box isn't the big item at our house this year, but it's still early. :P
That sand table is too cute! Glad it keeps 'your little friend' so entertained.
Loves!
