Home again, Home again

Jiggity Jig.

Yes, I'm sure I wasn't "too cryptic" with my last post. My hiatus was actually a much needed trip to spend a wonderful week + with My Jessie. Matt had a class to attend a few hours away so we were able to land an "almost all expense" paid trip tagging along. While Matt went to class and Tim went on a business trip, we girls (and our little friend) had such fun just being us together. Scrapbooking, cooking, baking, eating, shopping, watching tv, chatting, reading "smut" (what I affectionately call our Hollywood-ish magazines that we both can devour and save for each other!), talking, talking, laughing and then talking some more. SO. MUCH. FUN!!

We arrived in last night and were back in the full swing of things today re-stocking the fridge and pantry after a power grocery trip, then E was back to pre-school and I caught up on paperwork and filed out taxes (and anyone who files there taxes this early is clearly receiving from Mr. Taxman, not giving to him). It's been a good day ... I mean how could it be bad when I saved over $8 in coupons which justified my Starbucks Iced Tea afterward, which they diluted the first one, which means I got 2 teas for the price of 1! Nice, I'm enjoying the second one right now :).

A few pictures to document my week:

Scrapbooking ~ I got two whole layouts done, LOL. But my BIG project was my Christmas album for 2007. It's now 80% complete. I just need to add journaling. I'll share on Friday Inspiration day (hopefully).

Shopping ~ I got a few really great deals on Saturday during our "girls day out" ... $9 jeans at GAP (the other pair I wanted when I bought these). Cheap, yes I mean cheap, jewelry (but oh so fun) from Forever 21 and my very favorite purchase, which was not on sale and was a bit of tax refund splurge ... this jacket from Target.

Sewing ~ After getting in touch with Chrisanna who won her choice of any item from my Etsy shop (a big thanks to Kelly for that give away) I got to work on her order. She choose this Isabella apron. Again from just a picture of fabric to this:

I'm also adding a few more aprons to the shop tonight. They aren't sewn yet, but the material is purchased and I'm going to try and get a few done this week. Here's a sneak peek:

Isabella Apron
Isabella Apron
Laurel Apron

I also whipped up a cute little tote bag for Jessie featuring her hand picked fabric. I "drew" up a pattern and think it's a winner. Look for totes in the Etsy shop toward the end of the month.

Snowing ~ Yes it snowed several days in a row at Jessie's ... enough to close school twice! Whoo-hoo. Here is Jessie and Ethan enjoying the "show" ... how cute are they?!?

And a little more "Aunt Jessie" love ...

As we drove home yesterday, Ethan said, "I miss my friend Jessie." Yep, melts Jessie's heart ... he's got her wrapped around his little finger!

Happy Tuesday!

Yea you're home safe & sound! Snow has a crippling effect on Western Oregon so I was afraid you'd be stuck!
I'm glad you were able to get away for a week! It sounds like you had a great time!
I'e always thought Ethan looks more like you and your family but in your new banner (which is really cute!) he totally looks like Matt!
