See I warned you ...

Posts from last week would be few and far between ... and well, they (being one) were very few and very far between. But only because we treated ourselves to a non-vacation, vacation. We spent five wonderful days acting like we were on vacation, here in our house, having fun with friends and family and as a family. Yea!

Here's a bit of eye candy to tie you over until I get back to my kinda regular blogging ;).

My little firecracker ... loved the sparklers (or sprinklers as Matt kept calling them ;). ) ... what a change from a year ago.

Our delicious olive cheese bread ... thank you Pioneer Woman!

And our even more delicious desserts, Flag Cake (ala Pioneer Woman ala Barefoot Contessa) ... so incredibly good ... a dense cake that tasted much like a soft sugar cookie with an incredible cream cheese frosting and delicious berries; and not nearly as exciting, but still delicious, spice cupcakes with the same cream cheese frosting. We were also tortured with chocolate cheesecake.

What a way to celebrate our incredible gift of Independence. Thank you to all the men & woman (and their families) who have made this possible ... let us try to show our gratitude daily and not take this freedom for granted.

Happy Sunday!!

Oh yummy! That olive bread looks so incredibly good. I'm just going to have to make it. And after hearing the cake described as a soft sugar cookie, well I'll have to make that too.
Cute sparkler picture! :) Glad you got to enjoy an at home vacation...pretty fun huh?

I just read through the entire olive bread recipe and I want to go to the store RIGHT NOW to get the stuff! Oh my word that looks good. Olives have been one of my cravings this time around so I really appreciated what she said about pregnant while eating it. We already know Graham will be a big boy so why not right? And how great that she tells you how to freeze it. I know I said we were staying home today but I just added Winco to my to-do list! :)
