So I have the liberty to talk about whatever I like ;).
I spent a few hours yesterday doing something I *love* to do ... and I'm serious about this ... sew. As long as I can remember, fabric and thread have brought me almost as much pleasure as paper ;). One of my strongest childhood memories is my mom sewing little jammies for my Cabbage Patch baby, Miles Wiley. I can remember they were little footed pj's, not too different from those I put my real baby, Ethan Ryan, into ... the fabric was a white cotton with some pastel print. I can remember being so excited for her to finish, dancing from room to room as I waited, not so patiently. She was sewing on her "antique" sewing machine, which now sits in my upstairs closet. All that to say, I have a love of sewing and fond memories wrapped around it ... so when I get to do it and I'm inspired by scrumptious fabric and things WORK ... that is huge. See I don't do it enough to be very good, just good enough to get by ... but yesterday was very successful and as me and the sewing machine hummed along, Matt and Ethan watching today ... I said aloud, "this makes me happy." I think Matt laughed and said "good" ... he really is all about making me happy :).
So I can't share my excitement fully ... as it's a gift for some one's BIG 30 ... BUT as a teaser (mostly to her) I'll share this sneak peek. Now she may guess, but in all our years of friendship I've never told her what I'm giving her (birthday, Christmas or any other) ahead of time ... it's our thing (well really her thing ... she always wants told by anyone) ... I never share, but this time, I'm dying too. SO she gets a sneak peek. You should count yourself very lucky little missy!
*COS*Scrapbooking ... well I've sure been on a kick and I've been trying challenges and other things to keep this creative energy occupied. So I created two layouts for this monthly contest at Create My Keepsake where you design a page with certain criteria to meet and if your layout is chosen, you're a guest designer for a month. Anyway, I'm sure I won't be chosen, and really neither one of these LO's is my typical style. I'm not even sure I really love either one when it's all said and done ... but they're done and I've vowed never to re-do a scrapbook page. It just takes something away AND I have plenty of other memories to scrap before I start re-scrapping them :). What do you think ... of the two which is the stronger candidate?
This month we are challenging you to Get The Party Started!
You must create a layout (or altered project) inspired by the following:
Red Lipstick – Use something red on your design
Body Glitter – Use some bling on your design
Party Dress – Use some felt on your design
Groove To The Music – Please use song lyrics as journaling (can be the entire song or just part of the lyrics)

Alright, I know I said I would update about the little fish, but this has gotten longer than I planned ... so we'll save that for tomorrow!
Happy Thursday!!

Oh I LOVE my new purse!! Thank you so much!! I can't wait to tote that around on girl day... :)
I really like your LO's - of course. The first one is very well journaled & very powerful - great job!
Talk to you soon...
Oooh... I know what Jessie's getting and she doesn't!! That fabric is great! Guess she really like that new "purse" :)
I like the second layout... probably because I love that picture so much, not that your big belly isn't beautiful ;)
Beautiful LO's! You are seriously talented. Great song choices too.
Can't wait to see what Jessie's gift is!
Ha! I can't believe you guys are using my "COS"!!! Love it!
So now that I've mastered knitting (ha!) sewing is next on my list of things I want to learn...I have the books but no machine and no skills :p Can I do it?
First let me say there's nothing wrong with long posts (or comments for that matter.) :)
I'm so excited to sew some new stuff for the baby. I'm like you though that I don't get to do it often enough to be really good. But I do love changing that rectangle of fabric into anything I want. I love that fabric for whatever Jessie's getting. Someone needs to tell me so I can taunt her with it.
I like both of the layouts but I love the second one. I just love that picture and I think you scrapped it beautifully!
Why oh why would you even give Jessie a tease? I mean really, the girl is relentless.....looks lovely though, whatever it is! She sure is getting spoiled this year!
I like LO #2 best, because I think the photo is adorable, but journaling on #1 is amazing....good luck!
Andrea!! Look a that sweet little tummy! Well, big tummy! I love the layouts, and your new chair, your ottomon, your cupcakes, your birthday treat for your buddy.... all of it!! Incredible! INCREDIBLE! You are too good!!
This blog post is toooo yummy! I love Jessie's gift...hee hee hee... and I love the thoughts and memories that you have about sewing. I don't think that I knew that about you!
The LO's are fantastic, Andrea, and so heartfelt. I love them both!
Hope you are having a good Sunday!!!
