Creative Friday ...

One of my plans for summer break (I'll try to share the 'bigger picture' next week, I just haven't been able to wrap my mind around a post about it yet ...) was to incorporate some different themed weeks. Not every week, but maybe 4-5 of the 7 would be a theme to coordinate our activities with.

To kick off our break, this week's theme was "Celebrate." Celebrating the end of school, graduation from Kindergarten and the start of summer.

Monday - We celebrated the longest day of the year with a Redbox & Starbucks.
Tuesday - We celebrated with a Kindergarten Graduation & McD's Ice Cream Cones.
Wednesday - We celebrated the 'laziest day of summer' with PJ's and cartoons ... for almost the entire day.
Thursday - We celebrated a be-lated Father's day lunch with my dad.
Friday - We celebrated with doughnuts, balloons, Toy Story 3 in 3D at IMAX and eating out

One thing I want to do each week of our break (and really I think every week in general) is to pick a bible verse to focus on. So this weeks had to do with celebrating.

And look at this fun new display I have for just such a thing ...

It's really last week's "Creative Friday" share, but the pictures didn't turn out and I didn't like the way it looked with regular chalk. It's a piece of moulding from last summer's estate/barn adventure with Kelly. I washed the moulding down, sanded it and then spray primed it and then used chalk board spray paint.

Love it.

Especially when I use the chalkboard markers on it ...

Next week is all about "Superheros" thanks to the VBS Ethan will be attending. He's SO excited. And with that I better get some super hero capes ready ...

Happy Friday!

OOO I like it, I like it!
I've been wanting to put some verses up on the walls and was planning on painting them up permanently but something you could rewrite I LIKE!

I like the verse molding! Did Matt make it or did you grab it somewhere? If it is the latter, I would like to know where...
