We did it ...

Like it (Ethan) or not (me) we survived the first day of Kindergarten.

Since I couldn't get a good smile out of him, I figured silly faces was the next best thing.

Aunt Summer & Grandma - my support team for the day ... Thanks for the wonderful distraction of lunch and shopping!

Lined up, ready to go into class, no hesitation at all ... looking so big and independent. My heart caught in my throat and I couldn't help but shed a few tears at this moment of change for us.

If you're a mom of one (who has spent almost 5 years hoping, wishing and praying for more) whose one and only just left the nest, please let me know how you do this because I think I need the advice. If not, I'm so happy for your love and encouragement and thank you for not trying to tell me how to do this because as much advice as you have, it's not the same. I know I'll figure out, I know I'll be fine ... but I don't have to like it all the time :).

Happy first day of our newest adventure called school!

Love your pictures! You did good Mama! :) So glad E liked his surprise from us. Did he end up getting Legos? Call me tomorrow - oh & where did you girlies go to lunch? Glad they were there for you...

You did great - and thank you for letting us be part of the day. As I told your Dad when we got home - we are blessed to have such a wonderful life, family - and watching our girls, and our grandson (because yes, we see a little of us in him!)continue to grow and be the people they are just makes us proud and happy. Love you sweetie!

I say don't let him go. School is overrated. Spending time with mom is much more important. I don't remember Kindergarden, but I do remember hanging with my mom. This is why we want Dogs. Dogs don't go to kindergarden.

Keep up the strong work and send my best to the big E.

You made it! The hardest day is over. :) I'm glad you had some distractions to take up your time. After I dropped Ella off at kinder the first time I went home and bawled like a baby.

XOXO

I know it's not the same because I still have a very full house but I do understand. It's hard to let them go. Even sitting here on the second day of second grade I'm sad and want to go get them and bring them home. I don't like it all the time either. You don't need any advice. You're doing fine! It'll just take some time to figure out this new normal. And as soon as you figure it out, it'll be time for track break. :)

I'm very proud of you both! And I know I always talk about how that day won't bother me a bit with Claire, but you just wait, I'll be blubbering. Who knows, this September may even get me when she starts preschool.

Glad to hear you had support. I thought of all you mommas sending their kids off, and I was praying for you.

What a handsome little guy. How sweet of your family to support you and help distract you for a few hours. Congrats on a successful first day of school!

Btw, thank you so much for the kind and encouraging words you left on my blog. It's so nice to know I have people thinking of us and praying for us. God is so good to give us the support we need. I just want you to know that I am praying for you. I can't imagine how hard it must be. I'm encouraged to hear that God has taught you a lot during this journey. One day you will look back and see His perfect plan for your family!
