I'm just "make suring" ...

... to keep you up to date on our "25 Storybook Surprises."

(That's how Ethan says "making sure" ... it makes me smile every time I hear it and then I correct him, even though I'd love for him to keep some of these sweet "Ethanisms," I'm sure at 18 it wouldn't be so cute :))

Books 8-11

• Bear Stays Up for Christmas (loved this one!!)
• A Tale of Three Trees (a classic in my mind)
• A Cat's Night Before Christmas (this one was funny, but a few "not great" choices of words, like "hate" and "darn" ... I know, not that big of a deal, but also not a precedent we want to set as okay)
• The Velveteen Rabbit (this was a very shortened version of the classic, from Target's dollar spot)

I hope your week has been full of bits of merriment ... I think we've managed to enjoy a little bit of Christmas each day. I can't believe it's two weeks until the big day!! So much to still do, but that's part of the fun, right?

I've also decided that the pressure to document every day in December is far too great for me and just writing that I'm not going to do it ... lifts what was feeling like a burden. Instead I think I'm going to try and capture the 12 days before Christmas ... similar to what I did here. And instead of being pressured to "blog it" each day I'm going to create some index like cards to capture each days memories and then worry about the album/scrapbook/whatever ... later. Phew, so glad to get that out.

Thank you for all of you who commented on the book give away ... it's so nice to hear from some of you that I know are out there (I've become a bad commenter too ... so I totally understand!!). I still have FIVE books left to give away, so let me know if you'd like one!

I'm almost finished with my second Christmas book, "Christmas Jars", and love it even more (I think) than "The Christmas Box." Again, very heartwarming. I'm so excited I'll have time for a third book ... if it shows up at the library soon.
