To-Do List ...

... from Wednesday is finally finished ... and it only had FIVE items on it!!!!

I've gotten a lot more than five things done in the last three days, but my to-do list is usually a list of items out of the ordinary that I know I'll forget or put off until the last minute (I'm cursed with the procrastination gene, but fighting to persevere).

In fact, I'm darn right tickled at all I got done today ... I finished the sets of "Happy Little List Takers" and "Picture Keepers" that I've been working on since Tuesday (20 in total). I got those done early enough that I was able to also get 6 "Bitty Baby Sets" done before lunch as well.

Then instead of sewing or napping (this was hard to resist) while Ethan napped, I decided I really wanted to 'scrapbook' or the closest thing I'm going to get to scrapbooking these days ... so I got out the banner kit I mentioned yesterday, pulled up these project instructions (my inspiration for the banner) and went to work making 6 little triangles to embellish the kit. I used my October Scarlet Lime kit for the triangles. Here's the end result and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out and the hour and a half I sacrificed to create it. It will bring a smile to my face and a reminder to my heart for the next two weeks.

I then got the night off from cooking ... we went out for pizza at Flatbread Community Oven ... Mmmmm. Matt then went back to work (yes, back to work at 6PM ... what a week this has been) and Ethan and I headed out for Target, Starbucks, Walgreens and Kohls.

I had/have a handful of percent/dollar off offers that are good through this weekend and were just too tempting to resist. At Walgreens I took the total down from $40 to $15 with manufacturer's coupons and store coupons (I'll detail in a separate post). At Kohls I took the total from $67 to $50 (that doesn't sound like a lot, but I did get trouser jeans, a blouse, a sweater, a Christmas book and a light saber). Not too worry though, this will go into my misc. spending in the budget which we've stuck to pretty faithfully.

And now I'm off to sew a bit more before heading to bed at a reasonable hour.

To day I am thankful for my able hands. Not everyone is able, physically or creatively, to make and create items. I thank God for giving me a passion for creating. It's been there from as early as I can remember and while I often take it for granted, I need to remind myself of the gift that it is. To sit down with a handful of things and make something usable, something to beautify our home or something to gift to someone else and bless them, is a wonderful feeling that my spirit thrives on ... a gift from God to me that I try to share with those around me.

Happy Friday!

Sounds like you have been quite the busy lady lately! Love love love that banner! Such a treasure to pull out each year! Thanks for the gratitude reminder by the way.

Oh my goodness - your banner is TOO cute. Stop it.

I like that you're documenting what you are thankful for...I need to start that too.

I'm back - & yes, I can call you. Have your cell phone ready. I'm throwing Amanda's baby shower tomorrow - so if I don't get you called, that's why. Miss you!
