A few deals to mention ...

I haven't posted on this since this post ... because I really haven't been watching it too closely. I've been busy with sewing for the upcoming bazaar. But when an extra good deal for Walgreens ($5 off $20 purchase) showed up in my inbox yesterday, I did a little research on The Grocery Game and Money Saving Mom and wrote out my plan of attack, er list ...

Hershey's Kisses (4 bags) $8.00
JIF Peanut Butter (3 18oz) $9.00
~ both of the above will be helpful for holiday baking
Scope $3.99
Colgate Toothpaste $2.49
Reach Toothbrush (2) $3.58
Schick Quattro Razor/Trimmer $6.99
Kleenex (4) $4.38

Total = $38.43
Less Walgreens Coupons $16.60
Less Manufacturer's Coupons $7.14

OOP = $16.36

Last week I also took advantage of the deal I posted about here. I forgot to come back and update that I got $162.46 worth of groceries for $45.26!! And it gets better, I still have $15 to use at Albertsons before the 27th, I got two survey receipts for a free loaf of french bread when you take their survey and four more coupons printed for General Mills cereals. Primarily I got Chex cereal (perfect for holidays ... i.e. Chex Mix and Muddy Buddies), Progresso soup and a handful of other items including ALL laundry detergent and a few cookie mixes (again for the holiday baking).

And I still have about $50 of my $175/two week grocery budget. Another month or so and that is going to get cut down ... or we'll have to build another room for the cereal :). Wasn't I just referencing Psalms about not giving me excess? I think I've passed the line on cereal (and tomatoes if you ask Matt :).

Happy Savings!

I came to your blog through a link on Kelly's blog. Wow, way to go on the savings! You've really intrigued me and I'm going to skim some more of your posts now. Thanks for being so open about your budget and savings. It's an encouragement and inspiration! :)

P.S. I'm Chrisanna's sister. I think she has one of your aprons. :)

Wow, Andrea! That is just awesome! I must admit, I've been inspired by your savings and I've been doing just a little on my own... I am no where near the awesome shopper you are though! :)
