I know, I should be posting something about voting, but I'm guessing you all have done that, right? If not, go do it ... if you don't, no complaining about the outcome. And that's all the political talk we're going to have on this blog :).
Now onto something far less important ... but could be more rewarding (especially if things don't go like you want them to tonight).
Starting tomorrow (11/5/08), Albertsons will be featuring and an awesome "Catalina" deal. A what? A Catalina deal. What's a Catalina deal? It's named for those little machines (Catalinas) next to where your receipt prints. When you purchase certain items at certain times you qualify for a promotional coupon or reward sponsored by a manufacturer.
Back to the deal ... buy $30 in participating products and get $15 off your next purchase (3 - $5 Catalina coupons will print). Not too bad ... but it gets even sweeter if you add in manufactures coupons (the $30 does NOT have to be after coupons as far as I've researched). Coupons.com has quite a few right now that would work for this deal.
Click here for a preview of the flyer.
I've read that you can do this twice per transaction. So you could buy $60 in qualifying items and get $30 (6 - $5 coupons) off your next purchase.
Here's the 2 scenarios I'm going to try:
Scenerio 1:
1 Progresso Chicken Broth
4 Chex Cereals
2 Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Cups
1 Vaseline Lotion
2 ALL Small & Mighty
1 Dove Shampoo
1 Dove Conditioner
Total OOP (Out-of-Pocket) = $22 ($8.75 in coupons & $15 for my next purchase)
Scenerio 2:
6 Green Giant Boxed Vegetables
1 Betty Crocker Cookie Mix (we use this for Christmas Candy Cookies a la Sandra Lee)
1 Betty Crocker Brownie Mix
2 Progresso Canned Soups
2 Chex 100 Calorie Snacks or Chex Mix
5 Cheerios/Golden Grahams/Chex Cereal
Total OOP (Out-of-Pocket) = $22 ($7.85 in coupons & $15 for my next purchase)
ANd I actually have enough coupons to do a third scenario with about $24 OOP, but it includes several things we don't really eat. However, they could always go to our food donation ... so I'll be keeping it in mind ... after all, spending approximatley $72 (after tax) and getting $45 for a future trip is a pretty great deal.
** Do not hold me to this scenario/reward ... I'm simply passing along what I've read and plan to do tomorrow. I have not yet tried this, make sure you read up and check the flyer in your store before you plan your attack :). **
I'll end with a little inspiration for your financial life ~
Keep falsehoods and lies far from me;
give me neither poverty nor riches,
but give me only my daily bread.
Otherwise, I may have too much and
disown you
and say, "Who is the Lord?"
Or I may become poor and steal,
and so dishonor the name of my God.
- Proverbs 30:8-9
Happy Tuesday!

I have 3 Albertson's $5.00 off coupons, if you spend $30...they are yours if you want them. Just let me know...I'll bring them tomorrow night.
You are getting really really good at this. You should be the "Coupon Mom". But don't go on Oprah.
I'm Kelly's friend, she told me I should check out your blog because
I just had a similar post on my blog. I just started couponing about 3 weeks ago. I wanted to share an awesome blog with you that was just recently started by two of the girls in my mom's group.
It's www.frugallivingonline.blogspot.com
They post a few times a day usually and have some great ideas.
I've stopped into your blog from time to time to check out your awesome purses, but never knew that you were a couponer!! It's kinda fun huh?
Anyway, I just wanted to share that with you.
Hope you have a great weekend!
