Did you all have a "sweet" Halloween? We did ... I think it was all Ethan had hoped for and about 50 pieces of candy more! And thus started the constant talking about, holding, sorting and asking for the candy ... I wish we would have planned ahead for the "Great Pumpkin." A tradition in some homes I know, where you leave your candy (with a few pieces held back) on the doorstep that night and the great pumpkin comes and takes it and leaves you a non-edible treat in its place. Not a bad idea, right?
Anyway, we had a great day on Wednesday. We baked, frosted and delivered cookies (I've baked 12 dozen cookies in the last week!!) to five special places, where Ethan was spoiled with lots of candy. Then home for lunch and a nap before my family came over for a quick birthday celebration for my dad. Then off to our church's Harvest Carnival (which is all Ethan could talk about all day) for more candy, games and fun. We got back around 8PM, gave Ethan a quick bath and we were all in bed and asleep before 10PM!

A picture of my "nice" dragon ...
We stopped off at a little park area to get a few good pictures in ...

Oh, so now you're wondering where today's title comes in ...
While out delivering goodies to family and friends, one of my old co-workers asked me,
"So, do you not work or anything anymore?" HAHAHAHA ... it was so rude it was funny. And really I've got a pretty thick skin with the whole, "not working, staying home" idea, but to be so direct, well ... all I could say was, "No, I just stay home with Ethan." Oh goodness, I'm not about to get into a debate on staying at home versus working outside the home, but it still surprises me that people view being the primary care giver of your child as not working. Oh-well, I'll take all the fun and playing we get to do over work any day!
Now, for the love of this person, my dad ... HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABA!! I hope you are having a great day, I think a Friday birthday is extra special! Enjoy all those cookies and know that we love you very much and are so glad we get to celebrate these special days with you! We are so thankful you are a part of our world and feel blessed that Ethan is able to grow up with you so close by!
And lastly for the love of my parents ... who are also celebrating their anniversary today ... HAPPY ANNIVERSARY DAD & MOM!! I know first hand that your marriage hasn't always been easy and in fact it there were a few times I didn't know if would survive, but I'm so, so glad for the example you've given us, to not take this commitment lightly, to fight through those rough times to come out stronger, closer and more in love in the good times. I'm glad you've seen it through to the good times and I hope you just keep growing more and more in love!
Happy Friday to you!!
(P.S. I'll be back with a double Friday post ... featuring a recipe and and my latest "weekly card" challenge.)

Oh yeah the debate....well I've done both, worked outside the home and at home and I'd say at home is the harder job any day, even if you do get to nap or stay in pj's some days ;o)
So are you saying you're "just a mom"? :) I have a whole post waiting about this. I need to post it this weekend before all my posts become about the baby.
Ethan was a cute little dragon! I'm glad he was nice too.
I loved your sweet words to your parents.
I'll be back later for the second Friday post. :)
I mean seriously Andrea you do just sit around and eat bon bons and watch your soaps all day don't you! Some people!
That photo of Ethan is precious!
