Words from one of my favorite movies ... 13 going on 30. And guess what, I am "Thirty and Flirty (okay, maybe not flirty, except with one person) and Thriving." I had such a wonderful birthday this year I had no idea I was in for an incredible birthday weekend. One filled with so much thought, so much love and a few wonderful surprises!
The first surprise was seeing Jessie & Tim in my garage Friday night ;). Matt "snuck" them in under the guise that he had to go pick up a present for me from our friends house at 10:30PM. I was suspect of "something" going on, but had no idea it would be this big of a surprise. I thought maybe we were borrowing their fun Lexus for a weekend road trip.
After chatting with Jess (the boys went straight to bed) until almost 1AM, I layed awake until after 2AM from all the excitement. Little did I know what was in store for Saturday. It started off lovely with breakfast, Starbucks and Farmer's Market. Then home for some sunshine, visiting, naps and toe painting. I *thought* the four of us were headed to PF Changs for a grown up dinner while E stayed with a sitter.
I had to be blind folded because we "had to make a quick stop" before dinner. Next thing I know Matt is making me get out of the car and go into a public place with a blind fold on!! Before the smell of my favorite pizza place could hit me, the blind fold was off and my family and friends were yelling "SURPRISE" and setting off poppers.

(Me looking lovely in my blind fold ... who knew Bethany's sleep mask present would come in so handy.)
(Me finally giving into all the emotion and shedding a few tears with Matt.)I have to say that this is one of the sweetest things Matt has ever done for me. He's been planning this for a month, coordinating with family and friends and keeping it all and absolute secret from me. And if you know me, I ask lots of questions all the time about everything and really like to know all details ... and never did I suspect this. Over the last month, Matt has pampered me with a massage, spoiled me with a fun dress and given me such a special birthday celebration ... thank you Matt, this means SO much to me! I love you so!
Like I said, the party was at my favorite pizza places (and favorite places to eat in general) ... it was the perfect location and food ... Cheesy Garlic Twists, Pizza & Carrot Cake!
Thank you to all of my family and friends who celebrated with me, helped coordinate the party and who give me so much joy! It really meant so much to me. I'm not sure if I was able to express that, but thank you! Wow, my cup runneth over ...
Can you tell who else was really enjoying the party?I know I haven't covered half of the fun ... but wanted to at least give an account of me dropping out of the blogging world for a few days ... oh and to let you know the next few are going to be pretty crazy too. We've got a much bigger celebration this week ... my nephew is getting married to one of my favorite people on Saturday. Both E and I are in the wedding ...
Of course, the pictures of E in a tux with tails will far out do any pictures of me. Jessica get ready for him to steal your lime light!
With that, Happy Tuesday!!
