A little late, but none the less ... here are a few of my favorite pictures from the ocean/beach. We were lucky enough to walk the beach a handful of times ... pretty impressive considering there have been visits where we haven't set foot on the beach.

Ethan really wanted nothing to do with getting near the water, in fact as the tide came in he panicked when it got remotely close to him (shocking I know). He was "happy as a clam" with a good stick for digging in the sand and a little stream of water to wash it off every now and then ;). The boots were a hit and a wise purchase, I'm not sure how much beach walking we would have done without them.

And here is a lovely picture Matt took of me ... well before I realized he was snapping away. I think it's a pretty accurate reflection of one of my "looks" ... but I'll let those of you who know me best be the judge ... and check out that wrinkle between my eye brows ... I think it's from way too much frowning ... and being almost 30 ...

And back to our "real" life this week ...

Things have once again quieted down for a bit. Don't get me wrong I still have plenty of things to keep me busy, but nothing major and nothing pressing ... feels nice to be able to just "be" a little bit. In fact, I'm enjoying it so much that I think I have napped every day this week ... *gasp* ... I know there are SO many other things I could/should be doing, but do any of you struggle with this? It just seems like I go in cycles of really needing that afternoon snooze. And I've found the perfect formula for a good sleep. A fluffy pillow against my back, one under my head and one of my big pillow shams on top of my head. Crazy I know ... but it drowns out sound, light and adds a little pressure for instantly good napping ;).

*Public Service Announcement*

After spending the morning with my mom at the dermatologist's office I feel like I should put a little blurb on here about the importance of using sunscreen, staying out of harsh sun and getting your skin checked. She just went through her second procedure to remove basal cell carcinoma from her face and she's also had squamous cell carcinoma removed ... none of these "looked" like anything to be overly concerned about. Be sure to check yourself and have your doctor check out anything you have a question about. And Mom, I'm glad I could sit with you, so happy I didn't pass out and steal your thunder and will be praying for quick healing for you!

Happy Wednesday!!

Those pictures are so great! Really makes me want to go to the coast soon! Good thing we are! :)
I do recognize that look you have in that picture! Funny that he caught it.
My mom also had some of those spots removed from her face recently. Quite the wake up call isn't it? I'm glad your mom's going to be okay.

I think the "llok" is spot on! Love it! And the naps... I'd take one everday, but then I feel guilty since I really should be working out instead. So, I try to keep it to one or two a week :)

I LOVE taking naps in the afternoon. I find that if I do it on Monday - I make it a habit for that week, don't know if that's a good thing or not. Speaking of naps, I just got up from one (a long one too - hooray for Sat. afternoon-snooze!!). :)

I hope your mom is feeling better soon. That is very scary. I'm also glad that you were able to go sit with her. You're such a thoughtful daughter (& of course friend!!).

Love you!
