Spring has sprung ...

Well more like summer has arrived ... we skipped over spring ... and I need to change my banner to say we're feeling, "hot, hot, hot." Seriously, we've had days of low to mid 80's and while I'm enjoying all the outside time, I'm kinda wishing we could have had mid 70's for awhile ... oh how we want what we don't have ;).

We've been playing outside almost every afternoon, spending a good amount of time on the porch ... Ethan playing with his water table and watering all the flowers and plants; Me enjoying a big glass of iced tea and light reading.

Today we ventured to the zoo (thanks Grandpa & Grandma Jenkins for our annual pass) with our neighbors and enjoyed the cool(er) morning. Tomorrow we have a date to walk the greenbelt and then have a yummy lunch in the park ...

Earlier this week we I was in search of a chocolate chip recipe that could rival my pudding chocolate chip cookies (as I was out of instant pudding) and stumbled upon this recipe, Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies, at my new favorite food site, allrecipes.com. I love that you can see how many people have tried the recipe and how they rate it. I figure that if almost 300 people have given this one a 4.5 out of 5 how can you go wrong? Well it lived up to the rating, really, really yummy!!

And in other news, it's time I shared one of my favorite daily reads, Confessions of a Pioneer Woman ... oh my how this makes my day. The writing is so well done, always good for a laugh and incredible photography. I stumbled upon it a few months back through someone else's blog and have been hopelessly hooked ever since ... along with a few hundred (oh wait make that thousand when there is a contest) other readers ;).
