A lot to talk about ...

Good thing most of my readers are woman right? If a man just read that they would close the window and run the other direction ... ;).

First, the winner of my #250 post celebration ... well celebration is a bit of an exaggeration, but you know what I mean ... via a random number generator, it picked #5 from the 20 comments I had last week (Sunday, September 9th - Saturday, September 20th) ... now see if you can figure out who #5 is ...

If the winner figures out it's them, they can have their pick of one of my Etsy t-shirts ...

This weekend didn't quite go as planned ... Ethan came down with a bug and he and I spent most of Saturday night awake ... or catching 10-15 minute bits of sleep. So needless to say Sunday was a major down day. I did manage to make peach & blackberry freezer jam, peach butter and a blackberry cobbler. Now I've run out of freezer space and am "renting" out part of my neighbors freezer, LOL. Next year, Kelly will teach me how to can so I can just put them in the pantry.

This week is getting ready for a very busy weekend. Bethany & I will be running our first 5K race (on her birthday no less ... what a great way to celebrate turning the big 30!). Later we're going to be showering Kelly & Baby Graham with some love. Totally looking forward to this day ... here's a sneak peek at part of Kelly's present. We'll top off the weekend with Matt's birthday celebration on Sunday.

Things are getting down to the wire for our trip to Maui ... I've got suitcases out and thanks to our drastic change of weather, am able to start packing away shorts and such. It's getting closer and closer and the more I think about the more excited and nervous I get ...

And while it's not officially fall for a few more days, it sure feels like it is here. Today has been overcast and rainy with temperatures in the mid 50's. I even broke down and turned on the heat (of course with the excuse of making sure all was working ... ). I LOVE this time of year ... FALL is my favorite. I've got split pea cooking in the crock pot and I'm getting ready to make my favorite hot buttery pretzels to go with it. Thank you to my great friend Jenn who shared this with me a few years ago ... it's a favorite around here!

Have you been to Target lately? My apologies if you don't live near one, I'm spoiled with one about 5 minutes from our house. My point is ... they've got new dollar stuff out and there is a ton of great scrapbooking items. An alpha stamp set, mini albums, punches and more. Plus a lot of great Halloween items too. Now it might be all gone when you get there, but none the less I've made my service announcement ;).

Phew ... that might just be all I have to share for now. I'm sure there is more I could think of ... just ask anyone who I can trap for adult conversation ... I can really talk ;).

Happy Tuesday ... I'll try to be a better blogger!

I know who the winner is! :)

I hope Ethan is feeling better and I hope you don't get it, especially not before your big race! And of course the baby shower! :)

There really isn't much teaching when it comes to canning. It's not that hard. But it does sound impressive doesn't it? I will be happy to "teach" you though.

I was just at Target yesterday and picked up a couple cute fall/Halloween things but didn't see any scrapping stuff. Not that I would really use it but you know, it's fun to look at.

Anytime you need to trap someone for adult conversation call me! A Tuesday or Thursday afternoon perhaps?

I must not have read this post close enough the first time, although my lengthy comment seems to dispute that doesn't it? But Carson was jumping on me while I was reading it so I didn't see the word PRETZEL until I posted my comment. I was just looking through my recipes this morning when I made bread and saw the pretzel recipe and made a mental note to make those next week when the kids are on track break. I can't wait! Yum!
(Gosh, maybe I need some adult conversation!)

Okay, okay, okay... so I wasn't smart enough to realize that I had to figure out that I was the winner! Does that disqualify me?
