A lot to be thankful for ...

This week has been busy and I haven't had as much time to blog as I'd like ... but I've had lots of mind (and heart), especially in light of the memories of September 11th. And yet, I'm struggling to get it out in a way that accurately expresses my thanks and gratitude for the life that I'm living. With much adding up to it, I've had a very thankful heart this week ... maybe I can more eloquently share details next week. I've apparently hit my intelligible sentences quota for the day (SAHM's only get about 10-20 per day ... the rest of what we speak is just gibberish that 3 year- olds seem to respond really well to ...)
Today was a GREAT day. It started off with fresh baked cookies to take to our playdate at the park. We met up with Amanda, Andrea, Bethany, Kelly & Summer for a wonderful time of eating, playing and chatting. And all 13 children got along marvelously and I came home with one very happy albiet tired little boy. Oh and the icing on the cake? When we got to the park there were not one, but two firetrucks doing a little training in the parking lot. Ethan got a personal tour of the truck and was even given permission to ride in the driver seat ... but my overly cautious child passed up the opportunity and we settled for a picture of him standing outside the driver door. Does a morning get any better than that?!?!

And I rounded out the great day with *almost* finishing a scrapbook project (so happy to be doing a little creating) and making 10 pints of peach freezer jam and peach butter ... YUM!!

After an evening run, I'm ready to head for the shower, grab my book, jump in bed and enjoy this wonderful start to the weekend!!

Happy Friday & Weekend to you ... I'll pick my winner on Monday ;).

Bummer, we missed the firetruck! Maddy and Bryson would have loved that. We had a great time at the park. We need to do that again before the nice weather is no more :) Have a great weekend!

Did we really have 13 kids between us? Wow!
Thanks for the cookies! They were really good! It was hard to eat just one! :)
I'm glad you got your jam and butter made. Isn't it so good? Canning, by the way, is much easier than it looks. I'll let you know when I start next year, although I still have a couple more things on my list for this year.
