All this talk of snow ...

... reminded me that I never posted these great pictures from our post Christmas present opening and post Christmas dinner fun.

My parents had accumulated quite a bit of snow and thanks to meterology (is that the fancy way to say 'the weather') it had stayed nice and cold so we still got to celebrate with a white Christmas.

And it meant that all the snow that slid off their roof and onto the deck made for a pretty sweet sledding hill. In fact, E gave up a ride on the ATV (unheard of I tell ya) to keep on a sleddin'.

Summer gearing up for the ATV ride ... she just looks so natural when you take her picture ...

And ... off they go with all the pups. All four of them. It's like an animal shelter out there ... the only requirement, your fur must be black.

We all (well Grandpa & Grandma sat this one out) took a turn sledding down the 'hill.' Do you think we had fun?!?

Look how sweet this one? Helping his mama out as she tries to gracefully get in the sled while wearing 3 inch heeled boots. Boots are appropriate snow shoes, right?

And this one ... she was a major scaredy squirrel.

We had to beg Marshall to go down and then before I could hardly take a picture he hopped on and flew down. And then probably said something like, "there" and walked off ;).

Then we came in and warmed up. And while the big boys were doing who knows what, the three of us were snuggled up with E and Grandma read him his favorite new book, Scaredy Squirrel (which is written by one of his favorite authors, Melanie Watts).

These two really love this boy. I think he would have been loved just as much if he'd turned out to be a girl, but there is just something special about a boy. I wouldn't trade him for pink any day of the week!

As I've listened to all the 'complaining' about being trapped indoors for days on end, I keep thinking how much I would LOVE that. And I'm 100% serious. To be trapped in my home (with a well stocked fridge/pantry and power) for 4 days with my family would be bliss. So all of you stuck at home, count this as precious time.

Happy Thursday!

Thanks for posting these! I LOVE the one of Ethan "helping" you in the sled. You look so cute (as always) and he is such a gentleman :)

hee! thanks for posting these, and for posting the good ones, despite my sweet outfit ;) I bet you'll have all kinds of people asking where they can get my hat. I'm with you on being stuck at home, it would be awesome, perhaps I will go snow dance now. Love my little E (and in complete denial that he is getting older) and you!
