The Lego City Advent calendar is a HIT. And I think it might just be our newest tradition...
Each day you open a box ... think traditional cardboard advent calendar ... but instead of candy/chocolate ... there is a little lego figurine to put together.
The weird thing is ... I think the advent calendar can predict the days happenings. For example, yesterday after receiving a TON of snow, we opened day one to find ... a snowman. Today, Ethan opened day 2 and found a little boy with a toy sword he presumably got for Christmas (or at least that's the story I came up with as we talked and talked and talked about this one little figurine this morning).
And guess what we did today while at the library? On a whim, we picked a tag off of The Salvation Army tree near the check out. I hadn't planned this, but as we passed by, I had the simple thought of 'why not?' We are so blessed and there is no reason we couldn't purchase a toy for a child less fortunate. Ethan loved the idea and took time reading the 'wants' until he found one that said Boy (Age 3-5): Building Blocks.
I have no doubt why he picked blocks over the ones that said cars and games. He is 100% into building things ...specifically with legos and loved the idea of giving another little boy that gift.
We'll see what tomorrow's box holds? ;).
Happy Tuesday!

So sweet. Sorry I missed your call today - google voice is weird on this new phone. I was 100 miles a minute today - tomorrow is LOW-key. I'll call you. :)
PS Your running girl is making snarky comment to you. I think my running girl died...
Abigail is totally into legos this year. She's asking for some legos sets for Christmas. They need to make a girl version of the advent. I'm sure E is going to love all 25 days till Christmas!
Oh man it makes me want to get it even more. But I just know that Graham and Leigha would have it in pieces in no time every single day. So next year it'll have to be. Although then I'll probably need three. :)
I'm happy to hear your December is off to a good start!
We do salvation army angels most years. Last year my sister and I did it together. We had fun buying toys for a little girl who wanted play food and a toddler boy who wanted music toys. I love doing it. We did it kids too and it's something I remember about our holiday tradition growing up.
