And hey, maybe you don't care what Christmas looks like inside our house, but I love it and having a visual record will be fun in years to come.
The first thing that greets you as you enter the living/dining room ... is our tree. Right in the heart of our home.
I love our tree. Even after years of the same 'theme' (which is really a traditional Christmas tree filled with sentimental ornaments, a little grapevine, lots of red wooden bead garland and a little felt) I am not tired of it. And the tree skirt (which I made)? I'm pretty sure it's celebrating its 12th year under our Christmas tree.
Right under our star is one of my favorite ornaments (from my seester) that says "Hope" ... and we're not talking about Obama's kind of hope. We're talking the only real hope, sent down as a baby to save the world.
To the left of the tree is our orange accent wall. This is the newest area to decorate with the addition of the sofa table in the last few years ...
The branches are always out and I just find different ways to 'decorate' them. The glittered churches are new (hello ... $1 each from the Wal-mart wall of glitter) and I suppose were worth breaking my 9 month stint of not entering a Wal-mart. How's that for some good marketing?!?!
I change out the framed piece to reflect the season/holiday. This was a print I pulled from here. I love it ... it says "Wise Men still Seek Him." The felt snowflakes were from JoAnns ($1 spot) and I just tucked them behind the frames.
And then we have the mantle. Can I just tell you I never tire of my mantle? I know it is something to be thankful for (seriously if you don't have a mantle you know what I mean) ... and I am.
It's filled with my button/fabric trees, my favorite Santa and a new "Merry Christmas" sign I picked up at Home Goods whilst in Oregon. The half empty felt advent garland is still much loved, but would have looked better had I taken the photos on December 1st ;).
And a new addition this year is the tree in our master bedroom. I've dreamed of having a tree in our room for some time now. I just love the glow of white lights and thought it would be awfully romantic in our room. So last year I grabbed one on clearance at Target along with an assortment of red & aqua ornaments. I was so excited to put it all together this year. I wasn't so excited once I actually got it up and decorated.
I still love the lights and am enjoying them every day ... but let's just say the tree is rather cheap (even at the clearance price it was a bad deal). And then my red & aqua didn't come together as I'd pictured ... but ... it's a tree in my room. And that I love.

I love it!! LOVE the mantle - I miss my mantle. Love the orange wall - love the tree & I even love the tree in your room!! It looks great in the pictures! :) Your Christmas house looks wonderful. When can I come over??
Your home always looks and feels so warm and cozy!! You do a wonderful job! I second the LOVE of a mantle! I don't know what I would do without it! Spend less on decorations probably! :)
Wonderful work!! I third the LOVE for the mantle. I used to never really care that we didn't have a fireplace but for some reason this I have kinda been wishing we would have had one put in.
So fun to see how everyone decorates, your home looks beautiful.
I love the idea of a tree in other rooms, I've wanted one in my room too and would love to get the girls a cute pink tree for the other living room. Maybe, one year.
Hope E's feeling better.
Enjoy your weekend!
Isn't there one more tree yet to share?
I love our little fun tree in the playroom. Carson & Bryson decided to redecorate it yesterday. It's now full of Star Wars guys and other random action figures. It's pretty funny.
Your house looks perfect as always! Very warm and cozy! :)
I love seeing everyone's Christmas decor. Sadly, Christmas in my house is a lot less decorative this year. My tree is up and has been for 2 weeks, but it still is not decorated. 3 of my dozen or so trees are out, wreaths are hung, Iriah angel out, but that's it. In fact, I haven't even taken out 2 of my holiday boxes. Sad. Between stuff for work, grad school and post bacc assignments and feeling crappy for a week, it just hasn't gotten done. At least I now have present under the tree, thanks to last night's wrapping party, and tree lights are pretty even without the ornaments. Hopefully I will get them up today.
Ohhh! I love it, Andrea! I love all the snippets! :) Love the Hope... real hope! :)
I say if you love the romantic glow of the lights, you should just hang some somewhere in your room all year long! tee hee
