One of our swimming conversations ...
"Mom, you know how they say some people were born to swim? Do you think I was born to swim?"
"Well, I suppose ... you are doing really well at swim lessons."
"Yeah, I was born to swim."
To say he loves being in the water is an understatement. Who knew that my nervous Nelly from 3 year ago would turn into such a fish.
We spent several Thursdays at "Little Swimmers" (a family at church has a 'ministry' opening up their pool to all the kiddos at church for several hours on Thursdays during the summer) which was just down the street from us.
We crashed Bethany & Claire's neighborhood pool several times.
Ethan swam laps in Jessie's new pool ...
We took a field trip to the Kroc Center in Salem.
Splashed around with a little cutie at a splash pad near Jessie's house.
9 days of swim lessons ...
And we finished off E's summer break with a celebratory day at Roaring Springs water park. This is only our second time going. The first was 2 or 3 years ago and let's just say Ethan barely got wet and our money would have been better spent on a kiddie pool for the backyard.
Fast forward 3 years and it was a blast. Of course it doesn't hurt that one of our favorite people joined us ... yea for Aunt Summer! Ethan's favorite "ride" was the super high, super long 'racing slides.' I think mine was the twisty-turny pitch black tubes that you rode down in a double intertube.
Summer's favorite of the day? When a teenager asked the lifeguard if the 9 month old baby she was holding could ride down the super high, super long 'racing slide' ride ON. HER. BACK. Don't worry, she assured the lifeguard the baby would hold on.
Seriously? Seriously.
The lifeguard said no once she fished her jaw out of the water.
Tomorrow's THE BIG DAY I've been dreading for awhile now. E's excited, I'm trying to be excited for him. Either way, big changes happening ...
Of course we'll have THE BIG POST tomorrow ... but then back to more summer break re-cappin'.
Happy Tuesday!

That baby should probably have been taken away from that girl. Yikes!
My boys love swimming too but we're still so cautious since we have yet to get into lessons! I know, I know we really need to. Do you think I could find some somewhere during track break?!?
