This week really feels like our kick off to summer as Ethan started swimming lessons. These are the first lessons he has had and I was really unsure of how he would react. I tried to make it a bit more familiar to him by taking him to the "free swim" last Friday. I think that worked wonders for his comfort level.
And well, Ethan has done so FABULOUS!! Doing just what his teacher(s) ask, even if it's not really what he wants to do. Putting his face in, blowing bubbles and "swimming" between teachers. Yesterday they jumped off the side of the pool and today off the diving board! Wow, watching my little guy show such signs of independence made my heart catch in my throat. I am just so proud of him. Especially in light of two little ones who threw fits both yesterday and today through the ENTIRE thirty minute lesson.
Oh and the thirty minutes of sun each day is tanning me up nicely ;).
We have two more times this week, lessons again next week and then we'll do another session a few weeks down the road. I think that this is going to be the boost in confidence he needed to be more comfortable and happy in the water (instead of on the edge of the pool or sitting on the steps like last summer).

Am I allowed to say that I don't really like the little bubbles that make the pictures bigger? They kind of freak me out...

Where are you doing the lessons? My boys really need to as they have ZERO fear of water and I have a ton!
