Well not for a few months yet, but it'll be here before I know it ...
We ended up choosing the Sheraton Maui Resort for our 6 night/day getaway. I read, read, read and then read some more, from travel books to travel sites, trying to figure out the right spot for us. I *thought* I was settled on the the Westin in Maui, but after prices jumping and more reading, the Sheraton just kept winning out on reviews. Plus for less money than the Westin's "garden view" (aka view of not much) room, we were able to get an ocean view room at the Sheraton. And while I plan to be out on the beach more than in my room, I still love that I can wake up to that every morning. Just thinking about it gets me excited. This is big stuff!
And of course, I *need* to buy some things to make sure we're ready for our trip too. Like I need a good pair of water shoes, since apparently you don't really want to go into the surf without them, less you come back with cut up feet from coral and rocks. So, imagine my delight when looking at a favorite blog and seeing these cute water shoes from Garnet Hill.

I think I'll pick them in red (or green, or orange?).
And then I found these for Matt, who is very finicky (or rather down right disagreeable) about wearing sandals of any sort.

However, he does also recognize his *need* for a something a little more practical then soaking his tennis shoes every time he enters the water ;). He liked these as much as he'd like any shoe like this.
And lastly ... I must first explain ... the history of the triangle bikini. I've wanted to go to Hawaii as long as I can remember and I've always dreamt about it being Matt & I going (i.e. I never wanted it to be a "family" vacation destination). So, I've promised for as long, that I would buy and wear a skimpy bikini should he ever take me there. Well I'm trying to hold true to my promise and he's always liked string bikinis ... so I'm thinking one like this will be the winner. I also have a black one piece I'll be taking and maybe one more fun one if I find it for the right price. I'm so excited to hit all the end of summer sales that will be perfect timing for our trip.

Of course I will never look like this ... for many a reasons ... but it is the incentive for sticking to my workout schedule for the next three months to look as presentable as one can when you're not a super model, who works out for a living and eats next to nothing and then says "I'm full." Yep, just not happening around here ...

Oh that looks good! We will probably never, ever go to Hawaii since Mike is very anti-tropical but it does look beautiful. Mike is also anti-sandal and I'm always trying to convince him otherwise. I will not tell him there's another one of his kind out there. :)
The only time I could even possibly get away with wearing a bikini would be right now. Nobody would care about my big belly and well, you know what pregnancy does for the top! :)
Oh my goodness! You are going to have such a good time. And Matt is REALLY going to enjoy that bikini! You'll look great in it! As for the water shoes, I like the green!
That vacation sounds wonderful! Someday I hope to be able to lay on the beaches of Hawaii. Love all the shoe purchases lately :) Oh and good job on the workouts! I had a slow start this week but I am getting back into it. I feel so much better after I workout so I don't know why it is such a hard habit to get into!
Soooo much fun stuff happening, woman! I think you will rock that string bikini! And I loove those shoes- I saw those on her fabulous blog, too! :o)
I vote red on the shoes....surprised? You two will love Hawaii. Shawn and I had a great time on our honeymoon. I think you need a countdown on your blog or maybe a paper chain to count down the days...
Woo-woo! That bikini is super cute!! You are going to have such a fantastic time - see, aren't you glad you booked it?! :)
I like the shoes in green. Sorry Erin.
Hey...new post - new post, move down. Maybe you're too busy getting ready for your holiday week ahead. :)
