Winter is coming ...

Our mountains are getting inches and inches of snow ... and with each passing day as we get closer and closer to Thanksgiving, I can just *feel* something in the air. It's no secret to my family that I love this time of year, I really LOVE it. Christmas is by far my favorite holiday and I really have to enjoy the time getting up to it, because after all in a whirlwind of 24-48 hours, the "festivities" are over and done. If I'm not careful I can really feel the holiday let down ... but each year I get better, preparing myself emotionally, living in the moment and just enjoying it all.

So, where is all this coming from? Well, I bought this years first Chrismas CD last night at Target ... again, because of my love of this time of year, I'm a sucker for good Christmas music, can you ever have too much?!?!

This one is a mix of traditional and more contemporary songs by an incredibly talented artist, Sarah McLachlan. And "Wintersong" happens to be on sale for a great price this week ...

The First Noel/Mary Mary is my favorite off this CD ...

As we listened to it on the short ride home and the music got my heart pumping with thoughts of Christmas, I told Matt we were so getting an artificial tree next year ... for one reason and one reason only (because I've been a die hard "real" tree person forever), I could put the tree up right now!!

Happy thoughts of winter ...

I've had to limit myself to one new Christmas CD a year. Maybe I'll check out this one you've so highly recommended.
NO! Don't do it! Don't put up the tree before Thanksgiving!! I used to say not before my birthday but really with kids and getting older, who cares about that right? :)

Yes, do it! Put your tree up whenever you want! I say Christmas can start as soon as Halloween is over! I love this time of year too and am excited to actually enjoy all the festivites this year from my home and not a hospital room :)

You are starting to sound like Nana! Of course, she already has her tree up...

Actually, Nana has her tree up at home & and also put one up at the lake - she's amazing - I aspire to that one day! :)

I am a proud owner of an artificial tree & love it - no mess, it's ready to set up whenever we want & no watering! Keeping the cats out is a chore - but we'll deal with it. I almost put it up this weekend...

I always wondered if anybody bought those Christmas cds that were in a display DURING halloween...not I know...I'm gonna have to be a little dissapointed now. I can't stand the stores putting out decorations for any holiday 3 months before it is here! That being said, I love Christmas too, and I am really going to have to try hard to make it feel like Christmas this year...It got up to 75 degrees today...
