Happy Thanksgiving!!

Not "Happy Turkey Day" ... although I have said that myself on occasion. I heard something the other day that really struck me. On someone's birthday we don't say, "Happy Cake & Presents Day!" ... we say, "Happy Birthday!" Why? Because (ideally) we're celebrating the person and not all of the extra benefits of their special day. It's still about them, right? So, to say "Happy Turkey Day" celebrates the great food we eat rather than thankful heart we should focus on first. After all the holiday came about as the Pilgrims gave thanks to God for His provisions to them in their new land. Now don't get me wrong ... the turkey (well not so much with me), stuffing, green beans, rolls and pies are all great benefits of today, but first and foremost I want to be thankful.

Right now thankful for ...
The little boy sitting on the couch watching Clifford ... My husband happily sleeping in his bed ... Guests upstairs asleep in their bed ... A warm house ... A fridge and pantry full of more than enough food ... a day spent with family and friends ... and most of all thankful to the Lord above that has poured out His blessings on me. Thank you God!

Happy Thanksgiving!!
