Welcome back ... I've missed our iced tea dates. I recently made Blondies from my Baking Illustrated cookbook. They were a little TOO good, I really need to share some with you.
Let me tell you what a wonderful weekend we had ...
It started with a relaxing Friday night at home, each of us doing our own thing {don't you love that? We're close enough to 'be' with each other without having to do the exact same activity}. I was able to get a long overdue 'sewing to-do' done::
This was for a 'hoop art' swap. I am in love with this little creation and can't wait to make many, many more.
Saturday Matt let me sleep in and I woke up to a maple bar ... Mmmmm. Then we ran a few errands and of course, stopped at Starbucks. Then home to give Daisy girl her first bath::
Later we dropped E off at G&G's and headed off to a movie & dinner date. I *heart* going to the movies ... but I *love* going to them with my sweets. Seriously, I want to be there 15 minutes before it starts so I don't miss one single preview. We saw The Lincoln Lawyer. I thought it was really good {but I may not be the best critic ... because I really just *heart* going to the movies}. And then we ate at one of our favorite places, Cafe Rio. It was BUSY. I remember thinking {as I stood in line and Matt held our table} that waiting isn't nearly that big of a deal when you don't have a child in tow.
Sunday was full of church in the morning and then another movie & lunch date. This time with Julie & Jessica. I love these two girls are not just my family, but two of my best friends. Julie really wanted to see Soul Surfer and while I was skeptical I went ... because, that's right ... I *heart* the movies. We grabbed some yummy Pollo Rey before the movie and had a nice bit of time to catch up with each other. The movie was very moving. Lots of tears. I loved Helen Hunt & Dennis Quaid.
So our weekend led into a great starting week::
- I've been busy working hard at my first 'blog event' over at Knitty Bitties.
- I've been catching up on orders and other to-do sewing.
- We started growing wheat grass for Easter.
- I volunteered in E's class.
- Today marks 12 days until Easter so we started reading through the Easter story {from the Bible} with our "Resurrection Eggs"
Lastly I would tell you that I'm glad we had virtual iced tea as I might have infected you if you'd really come over. E came home with a worsening cough and a fever of 102.7. Here we go again.
Good thing I have a girls weekend of FOOD, CRAFT and lots of laughing to look forward too. Here's hoping we can do iced tea again next week and I can tell you all about it!
Happy Tuesday!

What a lovely weekend!
I *heart* your hoop, such a perfect saying.
And seriously that Daisy, what an adorable fur ball.
I'm looking forward to the weekend, see you then!
Your hoop art turned out so cute!
That Daisy is so sweet!
I'm sorry you're dealing with sickness AGAIN! Praying it goes away FAST!
Can we see some more pics of Miss D, please?
And maybe from your weekend?
xoxo
