What's on your Nightstand?

A tale of two nightstands ... Matt's and mine :).

Okay, really it's a tale of one nightstand, since I'm only sharing what is on mine. As you can see there are lots and lots of reading choices. Then there are the essentials, Kleenex, my favorite alarm clock that displays the time on the ceiling (love that), a lamp, a favorite picture of Ethan, Burt's Bees Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Cream & a baby monitor (and yes, my baby is almost FIVE!). And next to my nightstand is all my current knitting projects. Can you tell I like choices and variety? :)

The reading selection:
The Choice
Songs in the Key of Solomon
Knit Together
A Mom After God's Own Heart
Bringing up Boys
A Women's Walk with God (current bible study book)
The Bible

Notebooks

Magazines ~
Better Homes & Gardens
Creating Keepsakes
Country Living
Sunset
Parent & Child

Now inside my little drawer is a whole plethora of other necessities, like chap stick, nail file, more lotion, glasses, heating pad, eye patch, etc. You know, all the things a girl can't live without between 11PM and 7AM :).

So tell me, what's on your nightstand?

And hold on ... there will be a second post coming ... one of us looks a bit different than when we woke up this morning :).

I'll play! First, I should admit that I have night-stand envy. Yours is cute and actually big enough to hold all your essential items. Mine is eensy-weensy, but I manage to balance the following items on it: CD player/alarm clock, lamp, Mary Kay Satin Lip Balm, notebooks, reading material (currently "New Moon", "The Alto Wore Tweed", and "The Christmas Box", and "The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency"), and a magazine. A afghan is folded underneath it. Items that come and go include reading glasses, my water bottle, and the phone (although I try not to sleep with the phone in the same room). I have no idea why this would be interesting for you, but there you have it!

Ahh, I'm a little jealous too. Your night stand is SO cute! Good job Matt. Okay, on my boring night stand (now I'm thinking I may need to spice it up) I have a lamp, my alarm clock, which also lights up onto the ceiling - love it, my Bible, a devotional, & a prego book. I also have a small candle, the light switch button thingy (yes that's it's technical name) & a coaster for my water bottle. I keep my Burt's Bees chapstick in the bathroom, but maybe I should move it...

And in my drawer I have a lavender pack that I can warm up for my back, Vicks Vapor rub, kleenex, a flashlight (in case I lose power), & extra bookmarks. :)

Cute nightstands! Mine is actually a small dresser, so the drawers in it house undies, tank tops, swimsuits, tights and the like. But on top there are several books...The Queen's Fool, Musicophilia and a photography book...alarm clock, burts bees lip stuff and avalon organics lotion, perscription meds so I remember to take them first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, a stack of gift cards from Christmas, thank you notes that need to be written, shells that Shawn brought me from CA a couple months ago, small vase with button flowers made with the help of an adorable, now toothless, little boy and underneath is a basket with magazines including Creating Keepsakes, Domino, Body & Soul and Traditional Home.

phew...I think that's it.
