Who has time to blog when you're busy having fun, fun, fun.
It seems like our weeks of hospital stays and sickness have given way to a time of rest, relaxation and rejuvination. We've been cooking yummy dishes (like peach cobblers and pies; smoked and pulled chicken sandwiches; pizza; and hot buttery pretzels) ... nothing like good food to warm your heart. Add into that some dinners with friends, afternoons with family and a special visit from your best friend and well, things are really good right now.
Still busy, but very good. Jessie came into town for an all girls week ... this is the second year she's done this, while on her summer break, and we've decided it will be an annual tradition. So far we've spent our time eating, walking (to counter act the eating), shopping, talking and just being together. The picture above was taken at lunch today ... I think you can see just how much Jessie & Ethan are enjoying eachother. In fact, tonight at bed time, Ethan didn't even want me reading his bedtime story ... no, "Jess" had to read it to him. It's fun to see him with her and know that he really remembers his "Aunt" Jessie and is even asking about "Dim" (aka, Tim, Jessie's husband ... aka Anonymous poster) and the cats.
Two fun things to leave you with ...
We went to see The Devil Wears Prada last night and it was wonderful. Laugh out loud funny ... a total chick flick ... loved Meryl Streep and Anne Hatheway is totally cute.
And, my friend, Linda, has my head swimming with knitting ideas. There's hardly a day that goes by that she doesn't send me a link to fun yarn or patterns. Right now we both happen to be reading The Yarn Girl's Guide to Beyond the Basics. And while I haven't yet gathered the nerve to attempt a sweater, this book is really tempting me.
That's all for now ... just a quick catch up ... I'm off to have more fun ...
Night.
