So, I promised a re-cap of all my happenings during my blogging break ... so here goes ...
Last Tuesday I received the pink paper needed to complete the wedding invitations I'm doing for Jessica and Greg's upcoming wedding. Between Tuesday night and Thursday night I managed to print, cut and punch 175 pink wording panels for the invites. Oh and let me say that each panel required two punches, so I really punched 350 times ... ouch!
I also cleaned my house from top to bottom (including scrubbing the showers ... which I detest above all other cleaning and therfore often put it off for way too long), ran errands and created personalized knitty bags for my first ever knitting bee (more on this in a moment).
Friday night was spent gluing and punching the wedding invites ... it was a fun evening spent with Julie and Jessica and we got the invites done ... which is BIG.
Saturday was as I mentioned my knitting bee. Awhile back (like many, many, many months ago) Rachel Ray's Everyday magazine had an article about hosting a knitting party. Given my love of knitting I thought this was a wonderful idea ... and was determined to make it happen. Well it did, some 6 months after I first started planning for it, LOL. I think it was a success. I had a ton of fun getting bags ready with knitty notebooks, instuctions, needles and yarn. Everyone brought something to munch on, I provided drinks and did some simple decorations with my favorite books and a few pink balls of yarn for a centerpiece. I can't wait to do it again ...
Sunday was spent going to church and then staying for a meeting ... the meeting was right during "Sunday big fat nap" time, but it was a good meeting made even better with a yummy lunch from Baja Fresh and time with friends.
During all of these days, Matt was working weird shifts at work, I was putting E to bed and staying up too late working on my many projects and while Matt was home, trying to keep E entertained so he didn't bug resting daddy too much ...
So, I was pooped ... well I think I still am really ... Matt had yesterday off and we ran, ran, ran all day. I think it's hard for him to sit at home with the pain of the shingles, so running around is a distraction. We did manage to eat breakfast at McD's (this could count as my guilty pleasure but I don't do it weekly), get our drinks at Starbucks, Matt & E went to visit Grandma at work while I had my annual eye appointment, then we signed our line of credit papers (more on this in another post) and that was just our morning!
Boring, yes, I know ... but I said I would tell you ;). So, I'll leave you with this silly picture of me and Ethan. Today was our "down day" to rest and catch up ... Ethan built us a "sidewalk" out of pillows. We of course walked, ran, jumped and slithered like snakes down the sidewalk ... and here is the proof:
Both of us in our jammies ... just hanging out, having fun.Oh and to answer my own question ... I love to slice a hotdog lengthwise, then in half, grill both sides and put it on two slices of sourdough bread slightly toasted and spread with hot-dog relish and lots of mustard. So, so good ... so, so not good for me. But I manage to have it about once a week ;).
Happy Tuesday!

What fun pics of your little pajama party. Love your tv stand and fireplace! :) So great to hear I'm not the only one who puts off scrubbing the shower. I did mine yesterday and it's my least favorite cleaning job.
Have a great day! :)

Thanks for all the time and work you put into the Knitting Bee. It was so fun and I now have a new found hobby. Hey, some people like to read before they go to bed, I now like to knit :) I am working on scarf #2 right now. What's the next easiest project? A hat or a bag?
Love the silly stay at home fun pics! Maddy loves to line the couch cushions up like that too.
My quilty food pleasure would have to be a drink actually. I LOVE McDonald's coke. We don't go there very often so I only get one maybe once a month if that but I enjoy every little sip of it when I do get one :)
Thanks again for the knitting party. You were an excellent host! Love the pictures of you and Ethan. Isn't it wonderful being a stay at home mom?! Cherished moments!
