And you thought I'd forgotten about this post, didn't you? I'm guessing most of you have forgotten this blog since it's posts have become so few and far between. I'd like to say I'll do better, even post regularly, but with days flying by and to-do list growing, I can't promise anything. But I'm not giving up on blogging, I enjoy it too much! So just sit back and be pleasantly surprised when I do post!
I can't believe it's only been a little more than 2 weeks since we got back from our trip to Oregon. We went without a real plan, just wanting to spend time with Tim & Jessie before the wee one arrived (one week after we left and three weeks sooner than expected) and see and breath the ocean and its air.
For a completely last minute trip it worked out wonderfully well. We booked a little cottage in one of our favorite towns, Gearhart for 3 nights in the middle of our 10 night stay. Grandpa and Grandma just happened to have some time on their hands and were also itching to get away, so they joined us at the cottage. We had a wonderful time hanging out, seeing the elk reserve, braving snow for a waterfall, hiking (a very muddy hike) to Cape Disappointment lighthouse, trying to go up in the Astoria column (but failing due to work on the stairs), eating good food with good company and a few very cold and windy attempts and walking on the beach.

However, before we headed to the beach and after we got back, there was work to be done to get ready for Miss E's arrival. Nicole and I painted the nursery while the boys stayed out of our hair (all the way in Newport). We also helped Jessie, sort, organize and launder the baby-ness she had received from her showers. When we got back from the "beach" Matt and Tim put up chair rail to finish off the nursery. The Saturday before we left, Laura and I were able to spend the day with Jessie, starting with her final baby shower ... a beautiful Saturday brunch. We finished the day with a trip to Target to get most of the remaining baby needs and came back home to unload and organize. Little did we know the time crunch we were under.
There was also a trip to Bob's Red Mill (so fun! A really great place to visit if you're a foodie/baker at heart), Fabric Depot (yea for new fabric!), Noah's bagels (YUM!) and a few other regulars when we're in that neck of the woods.
All in all a wonderful time spent together as a family at our home away from home (but away from our home) with wonderful friends celebrating the everyday joy's of life and preparing for some of life's bigger events!
Happy Day!

I'm so glad Jack and Mary got to meet up with you, those memories for Ethan are so important. I'm sorry that Jessie couldn't try to squeeze that baby out a little sooner, so you didn't have to miss it, but I'll bet being around all that babyness was fun!
Love the little picture collage. Tell Ethan I am looking forward to the next time we get to play Lego's together.
It sounds like you guys had a fun time away.
The pictures are great as always! Makes me want May to get here even quicker!
That looks like the perfect place to spend some time. I've bookmarked that to show Eric!
So much new stuff going on that we haven't even heard about! CS3? New camera? Must share details!
So fun to see more baby pics, too! I hope the days pass quickly until you can hold that sweet bundle!
