So today I said I'd post about my attempts at getting healthy. So here goes, out here for all three of my loyal readers (okay maybe four ... LOL) to read and hold me accountable! I USED to be a pretty healthy person ... USED to ... but ever since I had Ethan I've slipped. I blame it on the coke they gave me moments after giving birth ... more on that in a moment.

Before I had Ethan, I had almost two years of a healthy lifestyle. I worked out 3-4 times a week, including some step/cardio classes, weight training and lots of core exercises. Even up until bed rest with Ethan I did pretty good. I also ate very well. Very little soda ... lots of fruits and veggies. And then the coke happened ... for those of you in my family, you've heard this before ... ignore my rambling. For those that haven't, I had refrained from caffeine for the majority of my pregnancy. I may have had a few sodas towards the end both nothing memorable. And then after going for almost 12 hours with just water, no food and pushing out a baby weighing in at over 9 pounds ... I was thirsty and hungry. In comes the beautiful tray of food (forget my brand new baby, I want food!) with a coke on ice. I don't know what it was, and to this day I have not been able to duplicate, just how good, how refeshing, how satisfying that coke was. And thus started my qwest to try and have that experience again ... drinking cokes on an almost daily basis.

So, in hopes of being pregnant again, and wanting to be healthy the next go round (and for my future), I've decided to take some baby steps in the health direction. Here are my first three goals for the next 21 days (21 days makes a habit, right?):
  1. Walk for 30+ minutes at least 4 times a week
  2. Drink at least 64oz of pure water a day ... iced tea does not count as water, Andrea
  3. Eat more fruit and more veggies daily
And that's it. Sounds easy, right? Well it is if I stick to it. I've done good on the walking. Pretty good on the fruit/veggie thing and I'm getting there on the water.

To my friend Linda who started back on WW today ... Good Luck, I'm trudging along with you!!

everyone, say it with me,

I promise (i promise) that I will faithfully visit (that i will try to visit when i remember) Andrea's blog (andrea's rant about coke and stuff, or something) every day (what was that address again?). And if I fail (Zzzzz...wha?) then Andrea (who's this again?) can send me sweet messages (more like nasty emails...) pointing out the error of my ways (bah - i've only been wrong twice).

Well, I will be asking you daily for your stats.
How much water?
How many bananas?
Just kidding!
I think it is great. And since we're twins- I'll have you know that I have been doing the same thing. Walking, drinking, fruiting.
Makes you feel alive again huh?
My vice is Dr. Pepper on ice.
